Hi,
We’re Kelly and Pete Goodrich from Saluda, Virginia; a small town on the Chesapeake Bay. The pandemic gave us the opportunity to work remotely for a year so we packed up the kids and moved to Huatulco, Mexico for a year.
It wasn’t just for the beautiful beaches and the warm, welcoming locals we knew to expect, it was also to experience immersive language learning, live affordably by the ocean, and to reconnect as a family through shared adventures both big and small.
But when we ask the kids what they like most you get a smorgasbord of deeply rooted happy memories. They loved playing soccer on the beach, snorkeling at Playa La Entrega, and stopping at the local “paletaria” for afternoon popsicles.
What we didn’t plan on, and what turned out to be our most pleasant surprise was the many visits from family and friends. It’s so convenient with the international airport just 15 minutes away, and our spacious home has a fold out couch, plus additional accommodation options within the same development.
Each visit had its own unique memory; boating in the midst of a giant dolphin pod, driving into the mountains to swing from rope swings into crystal clear fresh water pools, exploring hidden bays by yacht, and sharing meals at our favorite restaurants, to name just a few.
From just hanging out poolside all day listening to all the tropical birds to cramming in new, exciting adventures every day, every moment in Huatulco is filled with possibility.
We made such close and dear friendships with so many local families it was truly hard to return home, so we committed to coming back again and again.
Quite uncharacteristically for this school teacher and nurse, we made a big move and purchased this glorious brand new villa. We loved spending our last months in Mexico hand-picking all the furnishings and making it a home away from home, just for YOU!
Make Your Next Family Trip Truly Memorable!
We were fortunate to find the perfect family to rent it for our first year; they moved in the same day we headed back to Virginia. Michael and Tania and their three children are finishing up their year lease with us, and, in spite of the inevitable challenges of life abroad, savored their experience and now join us in inviting you to try Huatulco.
